01 / OVERVIEW
What is Keytomic MCP?
Keytomic MCP is a free, remote SEO audit server that lets you check a website’s technical SEO directly from an AI assistant. It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to Keytomic’s website auditing service.
Instead of opening a separate SEO tool, ask your assistant to start an audit, check its progress, review technical issues, and explain what needs attention. Keytomic starts the audit, checks the website, and returns the results so you can ask follow-up questions about specific pages and issues.
Try this prompt
Run a technical SEO audit of https://example.com using Keytomic MCP. Check up to 25 pages and give me the overall score, category scores, and most important issues.
What does Keytomic MCP check?
Crawlability
Check for technical problems that may prevent search engine crawlers from accessing website pages.
Indexability
Review reported issues that could affect whether pages are eligible to appear in search results.
Metadata
Check page metadata for reported issues that may affect how pages are described and understood by search engines.
Each category includes its own score and issue count. Ask your AI assistant to list individual issues, affected URLs, and severity.
Scope note
Keytomic MCP performs a technical website audit. It does not connect to Google Search Console or provide live keyword rankings, search traffic, or Google indexing records.
02 / CONNECTION
How to connect Keytomic MCP
You can use Keytomic with an AI assistant that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP. The server is public and free to use: no Keytomic subscription, account, API key, or separate MCP login is required.
Connection details
Server name: Keytomic
Connection type: Remote MCP / Streamable HTTP

03 / CHATGPT
Connect Keytomic MCP to ChatGPT
You can add Keytomic as a custom MCP app in ChatGPT where your plan, developer mode, and workspace settings support the required tools.
Step 1 · Open ChatGPT settings
Open ChatGPT on the web and go to Settings → Apps or your workspace’s app management area. In managed workspaces, an administrator may need to enable Developer Mode before a custom MCP app can be created.
Step 2 · Create a custom app
Choose the option to create a custom app or MCP connection. Use the exact server URL, including its trailing slash.
ChatGPT connection
Name: Keytomic
MCP Server URL: https://mcp.keytomic.com/
Authentication: None
Step 3 · Review the available tools
A successful connection should discover four Keytomic tools. Review them and complete the connection.
• start_website_audit
• get_audit_status
• get_audit_summary
• get_audit_category
Step 4 · Run your first audit
Open a chat where the Keytomic app is available and ask ChatGPT to run an audit, wait for completion, then show the overall and category scores.
First ChatGPT prompt
Using Keytomic MCP, run a Quick Audit of https://example.com.
Check its status until it finishes, then show me the overall SEO score
and all three category scores.
Important
ChatGPT MCP support depends on your plan and workspace permissions. The start_website_audit tool creates an audit job and is not classified as read-only. A ChatGPT configuration restricted to read-only tools may be unable to start an audit.

Keytomic MCP reports technical issues. It does not directly modify website files or automatically apply fixes.
07 / AUDIT WORKFLOW
How a Keytomic SEO audit works
Your AI assistant uses Keytomic’s tools to start a scan and retrieve its results. The work happens in four stages:
1 · Start the audit
Your assistant sends a public website URL to Keytomic. A Quick Audit checks up to 25 pages and returns an audit ID.
2 · Check audit progress
The audit may initially be queued or running. Your assistant can check progress using the audit ID.
3 · Get the audit summary
When complete, Keytomic returns the overall SEO score, pages checked, and separate scores and issue counts for crawlability, indexability, and metadata.
4 · Review individual issues
Ask for issues from a specific category. Each issue includes details such as severity, affected page URL, title, and description. If there are more than 20 issues, use the returned cursor to retrieve another page.
08 / COPYABLE PROMPTS
Prompts to try with Keytomic MCP
Start with a full audit or ask focused questions about its findings. Replace example.com with a public website you want to check.

Tip
You can ask follow-up questions about a completed audit without starting another one. Keep the audit ID available so your assistant can request the existing results.

10 / LIMITS
Keytomic MCP limits and requirements
Keytomic MCP is designed for quick technical checks of public websites.
• Free Quick Audits; no Keytomic account, API key, or OAuth login required.
• Up to 25 pages per audit; the page limit and audit categories are fixed.
• Crawlability, indexability, and metadata checks are available.
• Up to 20 issues are returned per category request; use cursor pagination for more.
• Audit jobs expire after 24 hours. Save findings you need to keep.
• Public HTTP and HTTPS sites can be audited, subject to reachability and crawler access.
• Google Search Console, keyword rankings, PageSpeed, and automatic SEO fixes are not provided by this public MCP.
The crawler may return limited results or fail if a website is unreachable, blocks crawling, or cannot be processed. The public documentation does not specify a fixed daily audit allowance; new work may be delayed or rejected if crawler capacity is exhausted.
11 / TROUBLESHOOTING
Troubleshooting Keytomic MCP
Keytomic MCP is not connecting
Check that you entered the complete URL https://mcp.keytomic.com/ and that your assistant supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP. Your plan or workspace may restrict custom connections. If you see a service or certificate error, contact the server operator; do not bypass certificate warnings.
My assistant asks for an API key
Keytomic MCP does not require a caller API key, login, or OAuth authentication. Choose No sign in or No authentication where the client supports it.
My audit is still running
A Quick Audit runs as a background job. Use get_audit_status with your audit ID and request the summary and issues after status becomes completed.
I received an audit_not_ready error
The audit has not finished yet. Check its current status and request results after completion.
My audit ID is not found
Jobs expire after 24 hours. A not_found_or_expired error means the ID is unknown or expired; start a new audit if needed.
The crawler is unavailable or at capacity
Keytomic may temporarily reject new audits when crawler capacity is exhausted. If the response includes a retry delay, wait that long before retrying.
My audit only checked 25 pages
The Quick Audit has a fixed 25-page limit. It is intended for a quick technical review, not a complete crawl of every URL on a large site.
I can’t see traffic or keyword rankings
The public MCP Quick Audit does not access Search Console, keyword positions, impressions, or organic traffic data.
A tool is missing or unavailable
Check that your AI client connected to the server and discovered its tools. Client account restrictions can affect which tools can run; starting an audit requires permission to create a job.

It runs a technical SEO Quick Audit across crawlability, indexability, and metadata. Each audit checks up to 25 pages and returns scores and issue details for those categories.
Can Keytomic MCP audit any website?
It accepts public HTTP and HTTPS website URLs. Audits may fail or return limited results if a site blocks crawling, is unreachable, or cannot be processed.
Can Keytomic MCP check Google Search Console data?
No. The public Quick Audit does not connect to Google Search Console and cannot retrieve queries, clicks, impressions, CTR, or average keyword positions.
Does Keytomic MCP automatically fix SEO issues?
No. It reports technical issues and descriptions. Your assistant can explain possible fixes, but the MCP server does not change website content, settings, or code.
How long are audit results available?
Audit jobs expire after 24 hours. Save the summary or issue list if you need to keep a record.
Is Keytomic MCP secure?
The public server does not require user authentication. The MCP adapter does not store audit jobs or results itself; a separate crawler service handles execution, results, and expiry. Avoid sharing audit IDs or results you consider sensitive.
